::appearance: Like all the vampires in the Twilight series, Edward is impossibly beautiful. His skin is "like marble"—very pale, ice cold, and sparkles in the sunlight. His facial features are perfect and angular—high cheekbones, strong jawline, a straight nose, and full lips. His hair, which is always messy, retains the unusual bronze shade that he inherited in his human life from his biological mother. His eyes, once green, are now described as a gold. His appearance changes if he goes long without feeding: his eyes darken, becoming almost black, and purple bruises appear beneath his eyes. Edward is 6'2", and has a slender but muscular body.

Edward was rather depressed and sullen. That is until he met Bella Swan. Until he met her, he could not hunt for days and not flinch at the scent of blood. But that all changed when a chance breeze from a class fan blew her scent his way. He is really protective of Bella, especially from himself and others like him. He can read minds, just not hers. Edward tends to belittle himself a lot fo his mistakes, much to the dislike of Bella and his family.

Edward was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 20th, 1901. He had green eyes and bronze colored hair, like his mother. In 1918, when he was 17 years old, he contracted the Spanish influenza. His father had already died and it was his mother's last wish that Carlise do everything he could to save Edward. Despite Carlisle's aversion to the wish, he turned Edward into a vampire because of his previous hopes of finding a companion. Edward moved around with Carlisle and since that time, Edward has passed as Carlisle's adopted son or as the younger brother of his wife, Esme.
Sometime after Esme joined the family, Edward went into a bout of rebellion and split paths with Calisle for a few years. Edward used his gift of mind-reading to single out evil people and drink their blood. About four years later, he decided that it was no longer working out and he returned to Esme and Carlisle and they welcomed him back with open arms.
Then, around 1936, Edward and his family moved to Forks, where they encountered the Quileutes tribe. A treaty was then arranged stating that the Quileutes would not reveal the Cullens' secret so long as they didn't bite any humans and that they stay off of the Quileute land. The Cullens lived in Forks for a few years before moving on to other places. In 2003, the Cullens moved back to Forks where Edward was once again pretending to be Carlisle and Esme's adopted son.
